As Ph.D. graduates face the pivotal decision of choosing a career in academia, industry, or entrepreneurship, insights from those who have recently transitioned into academia can be precious. These insights provide a fresh perspective on the challenges and rewards associated with an academic career. This second version of the article is crafted to help students make informed career choices by sharing the experiences of early-career academics in the rapidly evolving field of robotics. We share insights from two distinguished professors from South Korea and Denmark.
